However, taking it from a practical level, it is something opposed to God and a mark received due to that.We trace the modern doctrine from the Plymouth Brethren and John Darby to the circles of the occult and claim of Aleister Crowley that he was the Beast. Despite that, the Darby and Scofield interpretation of Pretribulation Rapture and dispensational theory led to modern day speculations of occult images and symbols as what to look for in interpretation. yet that is not necessarily based on scripture itself.
